FATHER's DAY

Today in church the High Counselor that spoke told a story
in the beginning about how mothers of brides are
always crying because their daughter's
usually marry men just like their fathers.
You can interpret this in two ways. They
are crying out of joy-----or out of sympathy!
I did marry someone alot like my father. A
man who takes care of me and honors his priesthood
and who greatly loves the Lord. Love ya Matt!

My dad was at every one of his grandchildren's
baptisms because that was what was
important to him. He was not retired at this
time in his life. He had to take vacation time or make a really
quick trip over just a few days--but he always did it.
I loved that about him!
Did his grandchildren know that he loved them--
YES!

This I think is one of my favorite pictures of him---
doing what he loved the most!

This is my sweet father at the end of his life.
My heart still swells when I see this picture to
remember the suffering he went through but
still pressed forward in faith that their was something
better on the other side.
Today the tears come easy.
I have a husband who loves me because
of a father who trained me up well.
I try and live my life so that I will be able
to embrace my father again one day on the other side.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Youth Conference (capital reef)

Samantha and McKell Flick were part of the
Youth Conference Committee.
They did a wonderful job planning.

Alexis Lukins and Samantha.

The priest and their light savers.
We are just practicing to be like
"the armies of Heleman"
Yeah, right!

Samantha and Jenny Hatch

that their parents participated in

The Priest wanted to sleep under the stars.
They hung their hamocks and froze their
booty!

Only One Way Down!

We came to this waterfall on the hike. This was the
only way down sooo I was told which scared me.
Luckily I was able to careful walk around the
small edge and be helped (or thrown) down
a steep cliff. This is Kylee making her
way down. I think this is the highlight for all of
the kids. They loved it as well as the leaders
I should say.
Samantha

Matt, of course! The biggest kid of all!

Youth Conference (Capital Reef)

On the way home we stopped at a gas station and
the girls found this sign "Pick Up Chicks Here"
and just had to take a picture.

Brother Porter is always getting into trouble.
I had to keep an eye more on him than any of
the youth!

I wore Seth's speedracer shirt. I was definately
not a speed racer. Matt carried a pink backpack
leftover from the girls and I carried the first aid
kit. It was a beautiful hike. It was quite
hard at time, but that is when it was fun to
watch the youth take care of each other
and put out a hand to help. It was a testimony
building adventure to say the least. The
beauty of the hike was awesome!

Only one real wound to take care of, but
glad that I could whip out my medical
supplies and feel needed.

See how hard this hike was. This is
Samantha being helped down by Paxton Patey.
What a good kid!

Youth Conference

The beginning of the 5 mile hike at Capital Reef
Sitting around the fire visiting.

The youth were obsessed with playing signs.
They played for probably 4 hours the first day.
They loved it.

Fun feeding a large bunch!

Always being helpful!
