The End of 8th Grade

The last week of school they had a 5K run for the
Junior High School. This is the Kylee woman!

I remember we had graduate at the end of 8th grade, but not
here in Utah. They still have 9th grade to go until they
are out of the Junior High School. Back in
the olden days we actually had a ceremony
where we would march down the isle. How they decided who we
would march with was they put the girls in the music room
just outside of the gym and the boys in the gym. We would
line up in the music room my height. Now I remember really
trying to be tall because all of my friends were tall as well
as what I would call the "goodlooking" boys. Then we would
go out of the music room in one line and match up with the
boys according to how they had lined up by height. (If this
makes any sense). My plan had failed. I was matched with
Edmond Laliberty. He was from Witch Wells, I believe.
He did not have running water at his home and so he
rarely took a bath. He was a quiet guy but not well liked.
I tried to hide back my tears as most of my friends were
matched with "better" boys. The night of graduation, Mr. Harvey
our English teacher came up to me before the ceremony
and gave me a rose and said, "They had to match the
most beautiful girl with Edmond." I knew deep down
that he was just trying to make me feel better because he
had seen my tears the day we were matched, but I was
appreciative of his thoughtful jester.
8th grade memories. Kylee has made some wonderful
friends this year and has been in Honors English and
Honors History. She has a 4.0. 8th grade has been
a good year for the Kylee woman that we love!

Matt went to Texas to do some repairs on the commercial
building there. He worked 15 hour days trying to finish the
tasks he had before he had to return home. One of the
nights he visited and stayed with Bishop Crumpton and
his wife. He sent this picture to Matt. This was the
picture that was put in the paper when Matt was called
to be a counselor to him in the bishopric.
I thought it was quite fun. They all look
like youngsters. Matt had a great time visiting!

Last Chance Dance

So Samantha went to the Last Chance Dance.
It was a girl as guy. This is Gabe our
neighbor. They went with two other couples.
They each got matching shirts to wear.
They had a barbeque up at one of the girls homes,
went to the dance and then roasted
marshmellows. They seemed to have a great
time. This has been an exciting year for Samantha,
dating and driving. A little bit of a stressful year for her
parents trying to let her go and do these things.
Kids grow up too fast. We sure have enjoyed
Samantha and Kylee really even more than the boys.
I think because we are older and little wiser.

Our Neighbors

This is Bree Beagley our neighbor. She is about 1 year old. Her
and her brother Max, about 3 years old love Matt.
They always come and knock on the door and say
"Can we talk to Matt?' So I have to go and get
him and then they get their candy. He loves it because
whenever he pulls in they come a runnin'.
So this Bree up in their 2-story window. She is supposed
to be taking a nap but she hears Matt's truck pull in
and she is yelling to him from her window.
Cute!

Forgot to Post Championship Pictures

Weirdos!

That's more like it!

New Calling

A few weeks ago I was released as RS President. I had served about 2 1/2 years. It was actually one of my favoritest callings. I loved the women that I was able to serve with. My first presidency consisted of Jennifer Lomineck, Liana Taylor and Jamie Harmon. Then about 6 months ago I was asked to get a new presidency which were Kami Asay, Diana Park and Leslie Anderson. Oh how I grew to love each of these women and their strong testimonies. I will try and get a picture so that I will have it for my journaling. When I was asked to serve in this calling was just about the time my father passed away. I was reading and pondering a lot of scripture at this time. The scripture that I came across is found in

D&C 123: 13, 16-17. Therefore, that we should waste and wear out our lives in bringing to light all the hidden things of darkness, wherein we know them..........You know, brethren, that a very large ship is benefited very much by a very small helm in the time of a storm, by being kept workways with the wind and the waves. Therefore, dearly beloved brethren let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God and for his arm to be revealed.

I felt like a very small helm, but greatly appreciated the help of my presidency. I certainly did have to cheerfully do all I could and then just stand back and watch the arm of the Lord. Many time the arm of the Lord was the other sisters in the Ward. I just stood back and watched them serve each other. I will certainly miss this time in my life, but understand that there is a time and a season for everything. The day I was released Matt was put into the bishopric which has thoroughly loved. He is a great man who loves the Lord and his family. I have been very blessed in my life.

So my new calling is Primary Teacher 8 and 9 year old. What a handful. But give me a few more weeks and I will have them whipped into shape. I had forgotten how fun Primary really is.

Elite Volleyball Club Tournament

This is Samantha's cute volleyball club team. They had their
last tournament in Ogden.
We took up Erika and stayed the night Friday night.
It was a lot of fun.
They ended up taking first place.
They played Friday night and all day Saturday.
Needless to say we were all hammered when we got home.

During the breaks the girls played Ninja.

We brought sandwich stuff for the girls to enjoy.

Go Samesa!

Salem Shooters Take First

Kylee played on a soccer club team this past year. It was
great experience for her. She is wanting to try out for the
high school team next year. They had a really great team
She loves to play mid-field, but played a lot of defending
this year----so we will see.
